SEG Automotive showcases significant portfolio expansions at AUTOMECHANIKA Shanghai 2025

More variety, more performance – in addition to the well-known portfolio of conventional starter motors and generators in OE quality for the aftermarket, SEG Automotive will present several new products at this year’s [Opens in a new tab] Automechanika Shanghai: Ignition coils and spark plugs complement the combustion engine portfolio. concepts for drone propulsion as well as agricultural applications demonstrate how the successful 48V technology from passenger cars can be applied to other sectors. Last but not least, the company is adding a new heavy-duty starter for commercial vehicles to its range, designed for the highest performance requirements in the Aftermarket.

When the doors of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai open again to visitors to Automechanika from 26 to 29 November 2025, SEG Automotive will once again present itself with a stand as part of the German Pavilion. The alternators and starter motors for passenger cars and HD are showcased on 36m2. In addition, regulators and matching components will be presented.

Highlight: New Heavy-Duty Starter

On the fair, SEG Automotive introduces a new starter for heavy-duty commercial vehicles that significantly outperforms its predecessor. This is achieved through a 4-pole electrical excitation winding, delivering major improvements in:

  • Service life
  • Start cycles
  • Temperature resistance

Robustness has also been further optimized: The starter is dustproof and protected against water during high-pressure/steam jet cleaning (IP protection class IP6k9k). Like all SEG Automotive rotating machines, the new starter is manufactured on OE lines and undergoes comprehensive end-of-line test.

The HXF109 commercial vehicle starter engine is the new, more powerful successor to the HEF109, which SEG Automotive had in its portfolio until 2018.

Expansion of the portfolio

On the one hand, SEG Automotive is offering an expansion from its existing portfolio with concepts for the use of its 48V technology for the propulsion of drones and in the agricultural sector.

On the other hand, the company will also be showing ignition coils and spark plugs, the logical complement to the starter engine as part of the ignition process of the combustion engine.

SEG Automotive's goal of contributing to efficient and reliable mobility with its products also applies to them.
