#SustainableTogether: Support for social projects around our locations
SEG Automotive is not a company that will change the world – or save the climate – on its own. But that does not mean we can’t make a difference.
The products SEG Automotive manufactured in 2021 will save over 9 billion liters of fuel and more than 21 million tons of CO2 emissions over their lifetime compared to conventional products – and we will continue to be a motor for accelerating the transformation towards sustainable mobility.
In parallel, we are actively looking for other ways to make a positive impact, especially on the communities around our locations. Since 2022, we have greatly intensified these activities under the roof #SustainableTogether. We encourage our employees to share their ideas for social projects that could benefit from our help – and then our CSR committee jointly selects several of them each quarter.
Here are a few of the 20+ projects we have supported with money and action in the last 12 months:
#WeAreTheMotor for high performance
By providing transportation, hotel accommodations, competition fees, meals, etc., we enabled a swimming team of impaired youths from Porto to participate in the national adapted championship in Lisbon. It was fantastic to see how much this meant to the youths – and their women’s team even took home the national championship!
Giving first aid to the ambulance service
The Regional Ambulance Service in Hungary received a new Skill Lab. The training room of the regional ambulance service in Miskolc, Hungary, was in severe lack of equipment and furniture. We helped them build up a new Skill Lab to train their old and new colleagues and offer open First Aid training for the public.
Preserving the beauty of nature
Treto, Spain, is known for its beautiful landscape. Local organization ‘Mi Pueblo Limpio’ is fighting to keep things this way. Our local team supported them financially - and by going out themselves to clean up local beaches and raise awareness against plastic waste.
